THE SOUTH AFRICAN GASTROENTEROLOGY REVIEW 2022 | VOLUME 20 | ISSUE 1 | 4 SAGES There are 3 SAGES scholarships available for applicants to submit research proposals. Please read the following carefully before submission • Only proposals pertaining to disorders of the Gastrointestinal tract (including pancreatic and hepatobiliary pathology) will be considered • All recipients must be SAGES members • Funds will only be released after SAGES is provided with proof of Ethics approval The scholarships are: 1. The Solly Marks Scholarship (up to R100 000). Only applications where the entire study budget falls within R100 000 will be considered. This scholarship cannot be used to top up additional funding 2. The Gastro Foundation Scholarship (R75 000) 3. The Abbott research scholarship (R50 000) The latter 2 scholarships can be used to top up other funding for large projects. However, preference will be given to smaller projects submitted by trainees in gastroenterology where the entire study budget falls within the scholarship amount Please submit the scholarship application, proposal, budget and ethics committee approval to karin.fenton@uct.ac.za Annual updates must be provided.
